This rule extends not just to individuals, but to firms, their systems and procedures as well as the quality of the oversight of their staff and authorised representatives. ^ Under the FLS Dealers License requirement from ASIC, FLS is charged with establishing and maintaining adequate training, supervision and compliance procedures for their authorised representatives. Compliance must be within the provisions of the Financial Transaction Reports Act 1988 and S243D of the Australian Securities and Investments Commission Act 1989. ^ FLS provide us with a comprehensive recommended list of product and service providers covering the Australian and global market that have undergone a rigid due diligence process to ensure that these providers meet all regulatory requirements. All recommended providers are at arms length arrangements. Ongoing research and due diligence ensures that the list is regularly updated and amended.^ Compliance is one of the most important aspects of running a financial planning business. FLS undertake an inspection and audit of our accounts, bank statements, client files and all relevant records twice yearly to ensure that we are fully compliant, meet all regulatory obligations and ensure superior service is delivered to our clients. A licensed financial adviser is required to undertake a minimum of 30 hours professional development each year to meet the minimum ASIC requirement. FLS provide ongoing training and assessment to their authorised representatives and audit the relevant training register to ensure that the minimum requirement is met. We average in excess of 100 hours training and development each year. ^
